Attitude Dance & Active Wear is a full service dance shop in Norwalk, Connecticut. Owned and operated by dance and theater professionals, we understand how important fit, function and quality is to dancers, gymnasts and fitness enthusiasts. Our vast selection includes pointe, ballet, jazz, character, tap, ballroom, hip hop and lyrical shoes, leotards for dancers and gymnasts, tights, pants, ballroom dresses, tutus, skirts for ballet and ballroom, knitwear, accessories and so much more. We pride ourselves on our service, knowledge, enormous inventory and our ability to quickly respond to the changing needs of our customers. It has been our pleasure to service dancers from all over Connecticut and Westchester County for over seventeen years, and we look forward to many more.
Kristin Ruggieri, Owner
Kristin Ruggieri received her formal training at The Academy of Ballet Etudes in Norwalk. She continued her studies at the Joffrey School, and with renowned teachers Finis Jhung and David Howard. Kristin was a scholarship student at SUNY Purchase’s esteemed dance department and also studied musical theater and dance on scholarship at Marymount Manhattan College. She has performed soloist roles in Nutcracker, Coppelia, Pas de Quatre, La Sylphide, La Boutique Fantasque, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty and many other classical and contemporary ballets. In 2007 she had the privilege of appearing in George Balanchine’s Who Cares, and was coached by Judith Fugate. Kristin has been teaching since 1994 at local schools including The Academy of Ballet Etudes and Just Dance, and was the owner of Easton Dance Academy from 2001-2012. Teaching has always been Kristin’s main focus and passion and she applies her knowledge, experience and expertise as a dancer and teacher to each pointe shoe fitting. Over the past 17 years she has established a reputation that attracts students from as far away as New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Toronto and Manhattan.
